Watch: Man in medieval attire chases LeBron James at his son’s game

LeBron James has been sidelined due to a right foot injury that he sustained a week ago against the Dallas Mavericks. He will reportedly be re-evaluated in three weeks.

While recovering, he often spends his time watching Bronny James play for Sierra Canyon. A few days ago, the Trailblazers played Bishop Montgomery in the playoffs.

The crowd was expecting the LA Lakers superstar to attend the game. Knights fans came out in full support of their team and trolled the four-time NBA MVP as he entered the gym:

James walked with a slight limp as he wore a walking boot as he trudged to his seat. He was with former Cleveland Cavaliers teammate Tristan Thompson and was greeted by good friend Maverick Carter.

LeBron James saw his son, James Jr., put up a great performance. Whatever the intention behind the troll job executed by the fan dressed like a Druid, it just didn’t work against Sierra Canyon.

Bronny James dropped 16 points to help his team to a dominating 64-47 victory. During an early run in the first half, the senior pulled up for a transition 3-pointer that hit nothing but the net.

The 19x All-Star stood up, yelled at his son to keep it up and whooped it along the sidelines. With a walking boot on, he is enjoying a reprieve from the heated NBA action while personally cheering on Bronny in a few of his games already.

The Trailblazers will take on Notre Dame for the state title in their next game. LeBron James will likely be on hand as it will take place on Tuesday night.

LeBron James may be sidelined longer than expected

In roughly less than three weeks, LeBron James will be re-evaluated. As originally expected, he could be back on Mar. 3, about two weeks before the regular season ends.

Shams Charania of “The Athletic,” tweeted an update that could upset Laker Nation:

“They need LeBron James back in the lineup (but) we don’t know when that will be. Three-week reevaluation for him, and even after that, I don’t know that the Lakers think he’s going to be back in three weeks. I don’t think it’ll be just the three weeks. Likely beyond that.
“And so you’re putting yourself in a position where you hope he’s back right before the playoffs, or he gets back for the play-in.”

LeBron James' absence is expected to go beyond the initial 3 week diagnosis, per @ShamsCharania.

After the win against the Golden State Warriors on Sunday night, the LA Lakers now hold a 31-34 record, which puts them 11th in the Western Conference. They could already be in 10th place as they share the same win-loss slate as the Utah Jazz.

The Jazz, however, hold a 2-1 advantage in the season series with the teams set to meet two more times before the regular season ends. If the playoffs were to start now, the Lakers would be eliminated while Utah would enter the play-in tournament by winning the tiebreak.

The Lakers need LeBron James as the games will get more competitive. With still around 18-20 games left for every team, anything is still possible in the bunched-up Western Conference.

LA could even take a shot at a top-four seed if things fall their way. Regardless of where they end up, the Lakers will need “King James” for the final playoff push or the play-in tournament.
