What did Shaquille O'Neal say about his Twitter beef with Kevin Durant? "Shaq doesn't know ball" comment explained

Shaquille O'Neal and Kevin Durant went back and forth on Twitter recently. Durant called out O'Neal, claiming "he doesn't know ball", after the latter said he was unaware who new LA Lakers recruit Rui Hachimura was because the forward isn't a top-ten player.

O'Neal hit back with some personal jabs at KD, saying:

"i don’t kno ball, but i kno how to brush my hair,or decide to cut it when i was going bald. love always THE BUS DRIVER"
@boardroom @KDTrey5 @JColeNC i don’t kno ball, but i kno how to brush my hair,or decide to cut it when i was going bald. love always THE BUS DRIVER

Shaq has expressed his dissatisfaction with Durant joining successful teams to win championships. The former LA Lakers superstar believes KD isn't among the best leaders in the NBA due to that and that he is along for the ride.

As far as O'Neal's comments about brushing hair or getting a haircut are concerned, they had to do with Durant's physical appearance. The former Nets superstar has been mocked for his lack of grooming, leading to Shaq using it as a jab at Durant's comments.

What did Shaquille O'Neal say about his Twitter beef with Kevin Durant?

The altercation between Shaquille O'Neal and Kevin Durant seemed personal, but the former quashed that narrative. Here's what O'Neal said on the latest episode of "The Big Podcast":

"Listen I am a jokester, it may seem personal with me it's never personal with me. Listen this is what we do I've been doing this since seven years old like, I don't have to know you but when I get on the court I'm gonna talk about you, I'm gonna talk about your mama. But in real life (I'll say), 'hello what's up?'"
"Hey man I'm 50 years old I ain't got no problems with nobody, but if you want them problems, I ain't hard to find just keep that in mind if you ever want them problems, I'm not hard to find but me personally, I don't want no problem."

Shaquille O'Neal has a humorous personality, so it's not difficult to believe that he wasn't taking a personal shot at Durant. The former MVP comes off as arrogant at times, but more often than not, he is indeed joking about situations.

Durant is no stranger to back-and-forths of this type. Him starting the dialog on Twitter is self-explanatory in that regard. The Phoenix Suns' newest recruit never shies away from entering these arguments online with his fans, either, so his war of words with "The Superman" does seem far from a personal attack.
