"When dogs get mad, what do they do"- Shaquille O'Neal reveals why he only talks a select few just as Kevin Durant fires back at NBA legend

Shaquille O'Neal is known by most people as someone who doesn't hold back in his opinion, especially when it comes to basketball. An interview with Shaq was recently released where he discussed why he selects the players that he talks to or motivates in today's NBA.

Even as Kevin Durant fired back at Shaq, the latter shared that he only talks with a few people, as he knows which players are motivated to take on his challenges:

"Have you ever picked out a puppy? You can see one puppy, you already know he's going to be a dog, right? So, notice I don't go at everybody." Shaq said. I only go at dogs. 'Cause when dogs get mad, what do they do? I know exactly what I'm doing. These kids now, you can't tell them how good they are, you gotta motivate them cause they got too much going on. I can't tell you you great now."

According to the LA Lakers legend, this was the same tactic he used to motivate his former All-Star teammates like Penny Hardaway, the late Kobe Bryant and Dwyane Wade. In the past, he had said that Donovan Mitchell couldn't be a franchise player.

Following that, Mitchell changed the way he plays now and was even on a scoring rampage during a game, where he scored 70 points.

Shaquille O'Neal recently shared an update on social media about his recent hip surgery.

Due to his surgery, he was unable to air with the TNT crew, Ernie Johnson, Kenny "The Jet" Smith and Charles Barkley. Last week, Shaq shared a photo on Twitter of him lying on a hospital bed while talking about Ernie and Candace Parker.

"I'm always watching @TurnerSportsEJ and @Candace_Parker miss y’all" Shaq tweeted.

A few days ago, O'Neal gave an update on Instagram about his hip surgery. He was seen walking inside the gym while having crutches on one side to help him walk.

"Bout to get my game back alll you old dudes that hoop in @24hrfitness @lafitness @lifetimefitness i’m coming for yall" O'Neal posted on Instagram.

It could take a while before O'Neal is back with the TNT crew, but it's a good sign to see him up on his feet after his surgery. For someone as big as Shaq, dealing with lower body surgery could take a while to heal.
