When NBA legend and Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr visited Liverpool FC's training ground

Steve Kerr is a huge fan of both basketball and soccer. During his playing career, Kerr won five championship rings and was a huge part of the Chicago Bulls dynasty.

As head coach, Kerr has won four championship rings in the last eight years. He's done a lot for basketball and is one of the best coaches in the league. However, he also follows soccer. More specifically, Steve Kerr is a fan of Liverpool FC.

Before the 2022-23 NBA season, the Golden State Warriors head coach visited the Premier League club and had a lot of fun. Kerr revealed that he's also a big fan of Mohamed Salah, one of the best soccer players in the world.


Steve Kerr visited Liverpool FC a few months ago

Steve Kerr is a big fan of Liverpool FC. He's been a fan of the popular soccer team for a few years and gives a lot of credit to Mohamed Salah for his love for the game.

“I started following the Premier League maybe five or six years ago and I had seen Mohamed Salah play and read about him,” Kerr said.

Salah is an Egyptian player who's played for Liverpool FC since 2017. He's been a huge part of the Reds and has broken numerous records with them. Thanks to his amazing performances, Salah has gained worldwide popularity.

“I was just so impressed by his character and what he had done in his hometown, helping to build a school," Kerr added.

Steve Kerr praised Salah for the things he's done outside of soccer, which is why he decided to cheer for him. When he found out that the forward was playing for Liverpool FC, he became a fan of the team.

During his visit, the successful coach also met some of the soccer coaches that were part of the team. He had a chance to meet Jürgen Klopp, the Liverpool FC manager, describing the meeting as "a great thrill."

Kerr and Klopp have similar roles on their respective teams. Thanks to their strategies, both have achieved a lot of success. The Warriors coach said that he loves watching other coaches, so it's not surprising that he met Klopp.


Kerr has ties to Egypt

Steve Kerr was born in Beirut, Lebanon and spent a big part of his childhood living in the Middle East. He eventually attended Cairo American College in Egypt and this is where he lived for three years.

Kerr eventually returned to Egypt for the 2022 Basketball Without Borders (BWB) Africa camp. This was his first visit to the country since 1985.

Considering that Mohamed Salah is one of the greatest Egyptian players of all time and has done a lot for his country. Due to this, Kerr will always be grateful to him.
