Where does Draymond Green's salary rank amongst his Golden State Warriors teammates
Draymond Green's salary comments recently sparked a debate as members of the NBA community had opposing opinions. The Michigan State product said he is expecting a max extension, which many do not believe he is worthy of.
Green has played his entire career with the Golden State Warriors since joining the league in 2012. He was selected with the 5th pick in the draft's second round.
While second-round picks rarely evolve into crucial pieces for the teams, you could argue that the Warriors might not be a dynasty without Green. As part of his efforts, he is currently on a $99.67 four-year contract, which will see him earn $25.8 million this season.
Meanwhile, Green is hoping to sign a max deal upon the current contract's expiry. However, with the amount the Warriors are paying in salaries, it might be difficult to offer the big man what he wants.
Draymond Green's salary compared to other Golden State Warriors players
Green has been a crucial part of the Warriors dynasty, helping them win four championships in the last eight years. However, he is only the fourth-highest-paid player on the team. This is where he ranks amongst his teammates.
#1 Steph Curry
Steph Curry is undoubtedly the leader of the team, and his compensation matches his role. Curry's shooting has been the primary reason the Warriors have had success in recent years.
For the 2022-23 season, Curry would earn $48 million as he attempts to lead the Warriors to another championship run. Sadly, he is currently sidelined due to a shoulder injury.

#2 Klay Thompson
Golden State had one of the most lethal backcourt duos in the league, with Klay Thompson partnering with Curry. Unfortunately, Thompson missed two seasons and is yet to return to his former self.
Nonetheless, Thompson, who has been with the franchise since 2011, will earn $40.6 million in salary. In 2024, he would be a free agent if he does not reach an agreement for a contract extension with the Warriors before then.

#3 Andrew Wiggings
Andrew Wiggins joined the Warriors from the Minnesota Timberwolves in the 2019-20 season. Last season, he got his first All-Star nod and was immense for the Warriors on both ends of the floor during the postseason.
The two-way wingman is playing the final year of his active contract and would earn $33.6 million. He has already signed a four-year $109 million contract extension with the Warriors.
#4 Draymond Green
Draymond Green is ranked fourth amongst his teammates with a $25 million salary. He is the vocal leader in the franchise and is one of the reasons the Warriors have had four titles in six NBA Finals appearances.
Jordan Poole, who is earning $3.9 million this season, was a big contributor for the Warriors during the 2022 playoffs. He played a significant role in their journey to becoming champions.
Poole has been rewarded for his contributions. During the offseason, he signed a four-year $128 million rookie extension. Next year, he would receive $28.7 million in salary, $1 million more than Draymond Green.
