Who is Keyonte George? Is he a probable Top-10 NBA Draft Pick? All you need to know

Baylor Bears freshman Keyonte George came into the NCAA season with high expectations. Since getting off to a hot start, George has taken his game to another level.

Keyonte George was ranked as the sixth overall high school basketball player by ESPN for the 2023 class. When George committed to playing for Baylor, he saw it as an opportunity to showcase his talent for an elite program. So far, he has not disappointed.

Listed at 6'4", 185 pounds, George is a bucker-getter who can stretch the floor from beyond the arc. What's been most impressive about George is his playmaking ability. George has the tools to score in bunches, but his development as a passer has intrigued NBA scouts.

After being viewed as a potential top-10 pick during the preseason, George's stock has heated up in NBA draft circles.

Keyonte George started to turn heads with his play at the beginning of the season. After his recent stretch of performances, the idea of George being a potential Top-5 pick has generated some buzz.

George is averaging 17.7 points, 4.8 rebounds, 3.4 assists and 1.1 steals for the Baylor Bears. He's also shooting 40.0% from the field and 36.2% from 3-point range.

Sports Illustrated reporter Cameron Stuart summed up his game nicely in a series of tweets.

He is playing red-hot and doesn't appear to be slowing down any time soon. In his last seven games, the freshman has averaged 21.9 points, 5.7 rebounds and 2.7 assists. He's also shot 41.4% from the field and 42.3% from beyond the arc. George has become a lethal shooter from everywhere on the floor.

One of George's most fascinating developments has been his ability to get to the free throw line. In his first eleven games of the season, George was averaging 3.1 free throw attempts. He shot an impressive 82.4% from the charity stripe.

In his last seven games, George has averaged 8.7 free throw attempts and shot 80.3% from the line. That included a three-game stretch where he was averaging 10.0 free throw attempts.

George and the Bears will take on the Oklahoma Sooners on Saturday. Tip-off is scheduled for 4:00pm/ET.
