His deal lasts for seven years and is reportedly worth more than $4 million per year. Shrewsberry was making much less at Penn State. His whole staff was earning a combined $3.3 million per year, according to reports.
Shrewsberry had a 37-31 record at Penn State. He has been coaching since 1999. He has been an assistant in many places including Purdue, Butler and in the NBA with the Boston Celtics.
Shrewsberry played college ball at Hanover College, a Division III school in Indiana. He is 46 years old.
Shrewsberry and his wife, Molly, have been together for years. They have four children: Braeden, Nicholas, Caitlin and Grace. Molly was born in Indiana and now returns home with her husband working for Notre Dame in South Bend, Indiana.
His wife is a health mentor and wellness coach. She runs a blog and service called Love Well, Live Well. She is also an essential oils educator. Her practice is focused on self love. She also runs an annual wellness retreat.
She studied kinesiology at Indiana University and earned a master’s degree at Purdue University.
Shrewsberry will try to lead Notre Dame to the top of the Atlantic Coast Conference. The Irish have only made one Final Four in program history in 1978. They have made seven Elite Eight appearances, including two since 2015.
