Why did Damion Lee get a Championship ring?
Damion Lee received his championship ring earlier this season. The Phoenix Suns have never won a championship, yet their shooting guard received a ring in early January.
While Lee is currently with the Suns, it's important to note that he was a member of the Golden State Warriors for four years. This includes the 2021-22 season, which saw the Warriors defeat the Boston Celtics in the NBA Finals.
Despite not having a major role in the playoffs, the 6-foot-5 guard was a member of the championship team, which is why he received the ring. However, Lee signed with the Suns last summer and couldn't attend the Warriors ring ceremony.

Despite not having a major role in the postseason, the 6-foot-5 shooting guard appeared in four games of the 2022 NBA Finals. He spent eight minutes on the floor in the series, but scored no points.
The Warriors beat the Celtics in six games, earning their fourth championship in eight years.
Lee could not attend the ring ceremony
The Golden State Warriors held a ring ceremony before their season opener against the LA Lakers. The ceremony took place on October 18, 2022, just two hours before the Dubs beat the Lakers 123-109.
Since Damion Lee signed with the Phoenix Suns in the offseason, he wasn't able to attend the ceremony. Due to this, he received his ring on January 10, right before the matchup against his former team.
