Why was Jordan Clarkson's girlfriend Maggie Lindemann once arrested in Malaysia? Explaining "5 days of living hell" comment

Jordan Clarkson’s girlfriend Maggie Lindemann had a harrowing experience in Malaysia in 2019. The American singer was reportedly arrested by the country's immigration officials for performing a couple of shows without a permit.

Here’s what she posted after her release:

“I want to start off by saying I’m sorry to the fans that came out to the Malaysian show on the 21st [June]. For reasons I can’t go into right now, I was detained and arrested mid-way through my set and spent the next 5 days confined in a living hell.”

“I have been advised not to say more at this time, but thank you for the kind words and concern. I love you and I hope to be back soon.”

15 days after her arrest, Datuk Khairul Dzaimee Daud, the director-general of Malaysia's Immigration Department, informed the media of the reason for her incarceration. Interestingly enough, Khairul emphasized that she was only held by authorities to straighten out her documents.

Jordan Clarkson’s girlfriend was supposedly released after bail was posted less than 24 hours after her shocking arrest. Khairul Dzaimee Daud added that Lindemann's post was both "false" and "incorrect."

The stunning incident forced her to cancel her shows in Singapore, Vietnam, the Philippines and other Asian countries.

Along with Maggie Lindemann, two unnamed US citizens and two Malaysians were included in the arrest. They were also released at roughly about the same time as the “Pretty Girl” singer. Conspicuously, Lindemann left that part of the story out.

The agent who was hired to handle the necessary permits was reportedly the one at fault. Malaysian Immigration officials charged and penalized the said agent after a thorough review of the case.

To this day, she hasn’t elaborated on what had happened to her in her “five days in hell” post.

Jordan Clarkson is playing the best basketball of his career wtih the Utah Jazz.

Jordan Clarkson is currently playing his best basketball ever in the NBA. He is averaging 21.0 points, 4.1 rebounds and 4.2 assists, which are all career-high numbers. Clarkson is playing way better than his Sixth Man of the Year season.

Utah, however, is set for a long-term rebuild, which may not fit within Clarkson’s timeline. The Jazz traded All-Stars Rudy Gobert and Donovan Mitchell for a ton of picks to jumpstart a new basketball era in Salt Lake City.

Jordan Clarkson has a player option next season, which will give him all the leverage on where he plays next. If he remains with the Jazz and no extension is agreed upon after next season, he will become an unrestricted free agent in 2024.

Jordan Clarkson is showing that he could be a crucial contributor to any team he plays for. He could test the free-agent market after this season and potentially be in line for a bigger contract.

With the way he has been playing, he will garner significant interest from several teams if he opts out of his contract after this season.
