Krafton has introduced a fresh Ocean Odyssey mode in the BGMI 3.3 update and tons of other new content, such as UC Up Event, RPA8, Supercars, and X-Suits. Although the developer didn't unveil these features via patch notes on its websites, as usual, it announced them via a podcast on the title's official YouTube channel, which landed on July 16, 2024. It featured some popular BGMI creators, such as JonathanGamingYT, Rarebit, Sharkshe, and SoulAman.
The Ocean Odyssey mode in the BGMI 3.3 update is among the most exciting features players have been looking forward to. It embarks you on an underwater journey, making for a gaming experience BGMI enthusiasts might have never seen.
This article will further discuss how you can play the Ocean Odyssey mode.
Win the Ocean Odyssey mode in the BGMI 3.3 update
The Ocean Odyssey mode lets players explore new terrains in BGMI, including an Ocean Palace in the deep and the Forsaken Ruins. Moreover, the mode features a colossal Kraken who looks like a giant Octopus.
To reach the Ocean Palace at the earliest, jump near its location from the plane. Note that there will be only two Ocean Palaces in a single match. They sustain Sea Suppressors that allow you to walk around like land, but you will start swimming again if you cross its boundary.
Once you land near Ocean Palace, you will be submerged in the deep. Moreover, you will receive a swim boost to help you reach your desired location and loot faster. At its core, you will find the legendary weapon: Trident. Retrieve it, and you will receive magical powers, including a swimming speed boost, the ability to summon a waterspout on the land, and a unique swimming animation.
However, stay cautious after you obtain the Trident, as it will wake up the monstrous Kraken, who will destroy the Sea Suppressor and flood the palace. To escape, swim back to land or use the nearby portal.
Besides the Ocean Palace, the Ocean Odyssey mode in the BGMI 3.3 update introduced another fresh location named Forsaken Ruins. Here, you will find decent loot evenly spread throughout the place. Also, once you arrive here, find secret keys and solve a few puzzles, and you will find a gateway to Sea Treasury, an underwater area in Forsaken Ruins.
Once you reach Sea Treasury, light up the columns near the entrance to claim the hidden trove of loot. However, stay cautious while doing so, as Forsaken Ruins will be among the top hot drops in BGMI.
The Ocean Odyssey mode in the BGMI 3.3 update has also added new items like Gleaming Stingray and Water Orb grenade. The latter is an amphibious vehicle, which appears like a Stingray fish. It flies at low altitudes and fires bubbles toward enemies that capture them and slow them down.
The Water Orb, on the other hand, functions much like a grenade. However, instead of inflicting enemies with lethal damage, it ensnares them and slows down their movement speed.
