BGIS 2025: Registration date, host city, and prize pool
On December 20, 2024, Krafton unveiled the roadmap for the first half of the BGMI Esports 2025 season. The initial six months of the year will feature two major tournaments: BGIS and BMPS. These two prestigious events will boast an enormous prize pool of ₹2 crores each. The 2024 edition of both events was won by Team XSpark.
The inaugural edition of the India Series was played in late 2021 and early 2022. The second iteration took place in 2023, while the third season occurred in 2024. This will be the fourth edition of the BGIS, an open-to-all tournament. Many underdogs and experienced players will be seen contesting in this grand event for massive prize money and the title.
BGIS 2025 registration to kick off on January 3
Registration for the Battlegrounds Mobile India Series 2025 will begin on January 3 through the Krafton India Esports’ official website. All details, like minimum requirements, rules, and format, will also be available there.
The Grand Finals of the India Series 2025 will be organized in Kolkata, West Bengal. The city will be hosting a major esports event after a long time. Karan Pathak, Krafton India Associate Director has also announced that the roadmap for the second half of the year will be unveiled during its LAN Finals in Kolkata.
“We promise you that 2025 would be bigger and better than ever. While we talked about the first half of 2025, you are eager to know what’s going to happen in the second half, well. For that, you will have to wait a little bit more. The announcement of the roadmap for the second half of 2025 would be done at the BGIS Finals. Don’t worry, I promise you that at the BGIS LAN Finals of Kolkata, we would be able to share the details of the second half of 2025”.
After the completion of the India Series, the publisher will organize the Battlegrounds Mobile India Pro Series (BMPS) 2025. It will be an invitational tournament meaning that all the participating teams will be invited directly to the play in the event. The third edition of the Pro Series was held this year.
Many teams are currently competing in the Snapdragon Pro Series Season 6, a top-tier third-party tournament. It features a total prize pool of ₹1 crore and will conclude on February 2, 2025. The Finale of the Pro Series S6 will be played offline.
