Nodwin Gaming has announced the much-awaited BGMI Masters Series (BGMS) Season 3, which will run from July 19 to August 11. A total of 24 teams from India will participate in the tournament, akin to the previous two editions. However, the press release didn't reveal other details like the format, prize pool, and schedule for the tournament.
The BGMS is a top-tier third-party competition, which witnessed huge success in its previous two seasons. Consequently, fans were ardently waiting for its third iteration. The BGIS 2024, an official BGMI tournament, is currently underway and will wrap up on June 30.
BGMS Season 3 to be televised live on Star Sports
Fans can watch the Masters Series Season 3 live on Star Sports network in multiple languages. The event will also be broadcast live on the YouTube channels of Nodwin Gaming, like previous editions. The schedule for the livestream will be announced in the coming days. Notably, it is the only esports event to be broadcast live on television in India since its inaugural edition in 2022.
Similar to BGIS 2024, the upcoming tournament is also likely to adopt a 10-point scoring system. Notably, the previous two editions were contested in a 15-point system. It will also be interesting to see whether the organizer will implement a different format in the upcoming season. Coupled with that, the selection process for the 24 participating teams is yet to be disclosed. Speaking of participants, it is expected that some renowned organizations will receive a direct invitation to the competition.
The first season of the BGMI Masters Series, held in Delhi NCR, boasted a total prize of ₹1.52 crore. Global Esports, who won the event, earned ₹26.6 lakhs. Right behind them, GodLike grabbed second place and claimed ₹15 lakhs, while Orangutan Gaming settled for third and secured ₹10 lakhs. Jonathan Gaming from GodLike was crowned the Finals MVP.
The second season of the BGMI Masters Series took place in 2023 and featured a gigantic prize pool of ₹2.1 crore. Gladiators Esports, led by Destro, clinched the title and a cash prize of ₹1 crore. Squad member Justin secured the MVP award. Orangutan Gaming finished second and earned ₹35 lakhs, while Velocity and Global Esports stood third and fourth respectively.
After a successful run in the previous two iterations, Nodwin Gaming will be aiming to replicate the same in the upcoming BGMS event. Teams will now prepare themselves for this much-anticipated three-week battle.
