Carnival Gaming fires Neyoo after recent controversy
On July 4, 2024, Carnival Gaming fired Suraj Nityanand "Neyoo" Majumdar after being involved in a recent controversy. A few days ago, a video of his went viral on social media platforms where he was seen abusing a minor girl for her racist comments. Several internet personalities shared his video and demanded strict action against him.
Neyoo is a former PUBG Mobile/BGMI esports player and has represented many big firms like TSM, Entity, and GodLike Esports. He retired from competitive gaming earlier this year after a five-year-long career. He joined Carnival Gaming as a content creator in May this year.
Carnival Gaming bids farewell to Neyoo
After his abusive video spread on social media platforms, including X, Carnival Gaming cut ties with Neyoo and announced his departure from the club via Instagram. The organization posted his image on their Instagram story with the text “Thank You Neyoo.”
In response to his viral video, he said:
"That girl called me "n***a" and "black" is this is a appropriate behaviour? I always have to face this kind of racism but how would you know how it feels cause you are not in my place"
He further added:
"You are absolutely right. It's never appropriate for anyone to call you by derogatory names based on your skin color. Racism is harmful, and it affects people deeply, whether or not they show their emotions publicly."
He stated:
"You have every right to be treated with respect and dignity. If you encounter racist behavior, it's important to address it and seek support from friends, family, or relevant authorities. Your feelings are valid, and you deserve to be in environments where you are respected and valued."
Neyoo also apologized to his fans, saying:
"Sorry for whatever happened on today's stream. I guess its my fault. Wont happen in future".
Neyoo started his esports journey with Entity Gaming in 2019, winning many events under the banner, including PMCO South Asia Fall. His team came fifth in the international tournament PMCO Fall Split Global Finals. He then played for TSM Entity in 2020.
GodLike Esports signed him and his teammates in late 2021. He was the most valuable player in the inaugural edition of BGIS. The lineup struggled for a long time, and he was made the fifth player in the squad. He retired from the scene and decided to focus on content creation, joining Carnival Gaming on May 2, 2024.
Neyoo has not posted on his social media account since apologizing to his fans on July 1, 2024. Several users have also demanded YouTube delete his channel from the platform. However, the company has not yet taken any action.
