Carnival Gaming officially shuts down its esports operations

Carnival Gaming announced the closure of its esports operations on November 8, 2024. The firm, owned by Omkar Chanduge, ventured into esports in January 2024 but shut down its operations within just 11 months. The organization signed rosters in many games but achieved no promising results.

Carnival Gaming entered the esports scene by signing the ex-BGMI athletes of Team Soul. The team played impressively in a few tournaments but could not lift any major trophy. Apart from this, Carnival signed rosters in Valorant, Free Fire Max, and Counter-Strike 2, as well as several content creators.

Carnival Gaming's BGMI roster recently failed to perform well in the Battlegrounds Mobile India Pro Series (BMPS) 2024 and could not reach its Grand Finals. It was an official major tournament with a whopping prize pool of ₹2 crore.

The club also had a disappointing run in the BGIS 2024, the first major BGMI tournament of the year. It ranked 15th there and earned ₹2.5 lakh in prize pool. However, it had a decent run in a few third-party tournaments. The organization finished fourth in the BGMI Masters Series Season 3 in August 2024. Despite looking strong in this grand tournament, the team faltered in the last few matches and lost the trophy by a narrow margin.

Carnival won three minor BGMI events: Lidoma Masters Showdown, Rising Star Season 3, and Nahos GAMEON Cup. It ranked fourth in the ESL Pro Series 2024, which was a big event.
