Skyesports BGMI Championship 2024 postponed
The Skysports BGMI Championship 2024 has been postponed after several teams accused some players of using hacks. Day 3 of the Upper and Lower Brackets was initially scheduled to be played on December 12. Skyesports, the organizer of the event, officially announced the postponement of the Championship until further notice.
The Skyesports Championship 2024 features a total prize pool of ₹40 lakh. The first few stages of the tournament have already been completed. As mentioned, teams are now playing in the Upper and Lower Brackets of the Playoffs. The Grand Final of the event is planned to be held offline.

Skysports releases official statement after several teams accuse some players of cheating in BGMI Championship
On December 12, 2024, Skyesports officially released its statement on allegations of cheating by some teams in the BGMI championship. The company posted on its social media and stated:
"At Skyesports, we prioritize the integrity of our tournaments and the voices of the players. We are aware of the concerns raised regarding a possibility of malpractices by certain teams in the ongoing Skyesports Championship 2024 BGMI. As a standard practice, we always implement additional measures to monitor the teams. This includes requiring players to participate via facecams, voice chats, and player VODs on a daily basis, with our dedicated admin team actively monitoring the gameplay of the teams in question".
Skyesports said that the company checked the facecam, voice chats, and player VODs of all the accused athletes but found no evidence to support the claims. The organizer added:
"After thorough checks through all available sources, we have not found any evidence supporting the claims. The suspected teams have been supportive and have provided full cooperation for any kind of moderation. Despite the measures taken, some teams still have concerns, and it remains unverified from the teams. Around ten teams have collectively decided to withdraw from the tournament".
Skyesports postponed the event until further notice after ten participating teams decided to withdraw from the Skyesports BGMI Championship 2024. The firm mentioned:
"However, we deeply respect the players' perspectives and are conducting a thorough investigation to ensure fairness for everyone involved. To further support our players and safeguard their integrity, we are temporarily holding the tournament until the concerned teams provide their verification or reports of the suspected malpractices".
The initial two days of Upper and Lower Brackets were held on December 10 and 11, 2024. Gods Reign was in the top spot in the Upper Bracket, while WindGod was first in the Lower Bracket.
A total of 16 BGMI teams are competing in each bracket of the Playoffs. The best eight teams from the Upper Bracket will progress to the Grand Finals, while the remaining teams will advance to the Final Survival Round. Here, they will face off against the top eight teams from the Lower Bracket.
