Arnold Schwarzenegger’s son Joseph Baena stars alongside Chris Hemsworth’s brother in the upcoming movie ‘Gunner,’ releasing on August 16
Joseph Baena, the son of legendary bodybuilder and seven-time Mr. Olympia Arnold Schwarzenegger, has followed in his father's footsteps. After making a name in the fitness industry and working on a few Hollywood projects, Baena is back with another movie. Arnie's son will be starring in 'Gunner,' which releases on Friday, August 16.
Baena recently took to Instagram to share the trailer and express gratitude for receiving such an opportunity. The 26-year-old will be playing the role of a fearless deputy sheriff named Wally. Along with him, the movie stars Chris Hemsworth's brother Luke, who plays the protagonist, Lee Gunner.
"Very excited for @gunnermovie to come out this week, on August 16! I play as the character Wally, the fearless deputy. I had a fantastic time working with such an incredible cast and crew. I’m very very grateful to have had the opportunity to work alongside @hemsworthluke and @morganfreeman," Baena wrote.
Morgan Freeman is also a part of 'Gunner' and plays Kendrick Ryker. The movie portrays the love a father (Lee Gunner) holds for his children as one of his sons is kidnapped by the drug mobs. Lee Gunner not only goes up against the drug mobs but also the FBI and local police (via deadline.com).
Joseph Baena showed his excitement about the project by replying to one of his fans' comments on Instagram. Reminiscing about Arnold Schwarzenegger's role in 'The Terminator' and linking it with Baena's role as the deputy sheriff, the fan wrote:
"Deputy Joe has finally has a permit for the guns."
Baena replied:
"About Time 💪😤."
On his Instagram story, Baena also shared a still from the movie, as he can be seen wearing the sheriff's uniform.
Joseph Baena's first action movie released in 2023
