How much could Arnold Schwarzenegger deadlift during his prime?

Arnold Schwarzenegger is the epitome of the bodybuilding industry and has been almost every gymgoer’s inspiration. Despite the generational gap, you can still relate to the legend's workouts. The Austrian Oak was a mad beast in his prime, lifting heavyweights and following a high-volume set approach.

He made some of the most iconic lifting records in his prime. One of the most common deadlift lifts is what youth can relate to, and Arnold Schwarzenegger crushed the lift with his immense strength. Let’s find out how much Arnie deadlifted in his prime.

Arnold Schwarzenegger has always been good at powerlifting, giving him the upper hand in his workouts. He used to deadlift 710 pounds, as per Barbend. The Austrian Oak was able to achieve this because he has been powerlifting since his teenage days.

There is a lesser-known fact about the seven-time Mr. Olympia: he used to participate in Olympic powerlifting and weightlifting events in his teenage years back in Austria.

The Terminator performed lifts like overhead presses and lifted 264 pounds. For a bout of the snatch, he lifted 243 pounds, and for clean & jerk, the seven-time Mr. Olympia lifted 298 pounds at the Austrian Olympic Lifting Championship. He even lifted a stone weighing 560 pounds at a stone-lifting competition in Germany.

Arnold Schwarzenegger's insane bench press record

The above-stated records give you a slight idea of the immense strength Arnie holds. But you might wonder what his bench press might be. Arnold Schwarzenegger kicked off his bench press with warmup sets of 135 pounds. For his first set, he moved to 225 pounds, and then he gradually increased the weight.

The Austrian Oak then increased the weight to 275, 315, 375, 405, 445, and lastly, he ended his bench press with 495 pounds. In the end, to push his limits, he performed at least three reps of 445 or 495, depending on the day.

However, this is still not Arnie’s best bench press yet. Last year, in November, Arnie appeared on the Pat McAfee show and revealed his unofficial bench press record. He mentioned that he did one rep of 525 pounds, making it an all-time-best record.

Arnold Schwarzenegger broke the stereotype that bodybuilders aren’t that strong with his impressive lifts.
