"Americans put their money into hope": Arnold Schwarzenegger’s ex-wife Maria Shriver reacts to Kamala Harris receiving $81 million donation

Arnold Schwarzenegger’s ex-wife Maria Shriver was thrilled to learn about US vice-president Kamala Harris receiving an $81 million donation in 24 hours, a new presidential record. Harris is set to replace Joe Biden as the Democratic party’s presidential candidate for the 2024 elections.

Given Shriver’s background in journalism, she is often the first from the fitness and bodybuilding world to react to political news. The former First Lady of California had a lot of relatives and friends in politics, which is why she has a deep understanding of how things work.

In a recent social media post, Maria Shriver shed light on the news about Kamala Harris. Securing the support of the majority of the pledged delegates after a massive fundraising day, Harris looks positive to becoming the next President of the United States later this year. She was recently nominated by President Joe Biden when he declared that he was stepping aside.

Following this, Harris created a new presidential donation record, gathering a whopping $81 million in 24 hours. An elated Maria Shriver wrote on Instagram:

“Damn!! Look at this will you! $81 million in 24 hours, from 888,000 donors, 60% making their first contribution of the 2024 contest. A presidential fundraising record, donated by everyday Americans.”
“All kinds of Americans, they put their money into hope. They put their money into democracy. They put their money into this woman and what this administration has already accomplished and the work that needs to be finished! This is a people's revolution, fueled by we the people! Let's go," she added.

Maria Shriver’s reaction to Joe Biden’s decision to withdraw as a candidate

Joe Biden, 81, announced on social media that he didn’t want to be re-elected in this year's elections. He added that this was in the best interest of his party as well as the nation. Maria Shriver reacted to Biden's decision and wrote on Instagram:

“This is a difficult day for the administration and the American people as Joe Biden announces his decision not to seek reelection. Let’s be reassured that this was not a decision that was made lightly, but one that was made with care, consideration, and prayer."
"It has truly been an honor working with President Biden and Dr Biden on the White House Initiative on Women’s Health Research. We set out to transform women’s health, and they have done so. I’ll always be grateful to them, as women across the nation should be," Shriver added.

She further assured everyone that her good work for women’s health welfare as well as her war against Alzheimer's will continue regardless of who’s in power.

"This work will continue, and we will keep going, getting the answers for women everywhere. Joe Biden is one man, but the vision and the work is bigger than one man. Thank you, President Biden, for your years of service to the American people," she wrote.
