“I try to stay away from oats” - ‘The Boys’ star Laz Alonso details his ‘extreme’ diet that helped him lose 40lbs
The Boys is currently airing season four on Amazon Prime and almost every star of the show has been on a transformation journey. But Laz Alonso's transformation grabbed everyone's eyes. Recently he shared his daily diet routine as part of his transformation journey. The star who played the Mother's Milk character on the set has made some remarkable changes to his appearance.
After gaining weight in the first three seasons, the Boys star finally thought this was the time to make a change. Mother's Milk started by going on an extreme calorie reduction diet and a high-intensity training regimen.
Alonso starts his hectic schedule with a glass of water and some added electrolytes to maintain the hydration level of his body on the set. However, this is just the start of his day, and he has much more to share.
After his electrolytes, the Boys star moves on to his first meal of the day and makes him a cup of green tea or his favorite matcha latte. Accompanying his second beverage, he has egg whites along with some rice to replenish his carbs level for the day.
Alonso commented on his breakfast, "It's kind of like oatmeal, but it's made out of rice, that gives me my carbs. I try to stay away from oats."
The dieting approach has not been easy for Laz Alonso to follow, especially while being on the set for around 14 hours a day. He shared some of the struggles he faced while on the set.
"They're constantly making snacks to keep the crew going so that you don't feel the 14 hours your body craves it when it's like 20 below outside and you're shooting in the snow. Your body wants some comfort so that part becomes hard," stated the Boys star.
Dieting is not the only part that alone helped Laz Alonso successfully make such an astonishing transformation and lose 40 pounds. He also did a lot of high-intensity training that helped him achieve his goal.
Laz Alonso's strict workout plans to get back in shape
In this season of The Boys, Mother's Milk is back at the White House, and he is focused on getting lean and wants his jawline to be chiseled. For that, he starts his day by bouncing on a trampoline as a great warm-up exercise. Laz Alonso is also seen working out with ropes as a part of his high-intensity training regimen.
Mother's Milk is not the only character the Hollywood star has been training and dieting for. In the video, Alonso reminisces about his days when he shot for the movie Fast & Furious. He did a lot of calisthenics to put on a lot of lean muscles.
To give such an astonishing on-screen performance, Hollywood stars often follow grueling training and dieting regimens for the best result.
