These tips originally posted at Jaymail, Cutler's daily newsletter, aim to help his fans and followers as it reads:

"There is so much bad information out there, I have to do something to help my fans and followers learn the right way."

Weighted bars are used by bodybuilders and strength-training people to achieve more than they can with just their body weight. So the first step is to set the bar correctly.

"Get the bar set at the right height; across the traps is ususally the best place for most people," the pro tip read.

As said, across the trapezoids is the right place for most people, but placing the bar too upward away from the shoulders can make things worse:

"Don't have the bar too high up on the neck - this could cause pain and it will cause the torso to tip forward."

Getting out of the squat rack is as important as getting into it. According to Cutler, it will improve your mindset before your physique:

"Get into the same routine each time you step back from the power rack, this just helps build confidence when you try and build your strength."
