“My rotator cuffs hurt watching this”: Chris Bumstead on Nick Walker's cardio routine

Priceless reactions poured in on Nick Walker's Instagram page since he posted a reel video of his cardio activity for the day. But Chris Bumstead's hilarious comment stole the limelight.

Walker posted a video of himself after his two-time Olympia-winning coach Matt Jansen decided to add some variations to his cardio routine. He made Walker do laps in the swimming pool.

Bumstead commented on the video:

"That was impressive! My rotator cuffs hurt watching this!"

Replying to the comment, Walker confessed it was one of the hardest cardio workouts. He said:

"hahah hardest cardio I have ever done lol"

Chris Bumstead and Nick Walker have both been popular figures in the bodybuilding scene with the former winning the 2023 Mr. Olympia title. Walker had won the Arnold Classic Champ title in 2021 and made it to the top five as a newcomer at the 2021 Mr Olympia. Both seem to share amiable relations and fans love seeing them interact.

Swimming makes for a great cardio activity, but is difficult for bodybuilders

IFBB athlete Milos Sarcev also made a funny comment on seeing Nick Walker's swimming video. He stated the swim would burn a lot of energy and make him very hungry.

"Lol - swimming is going to make you hungry as a wolf," Sarcev commented on Nick Walker's Instagram post.

Equally popular amongst heavyweight lifters and cardio lovers, swimming is an activity that requires superfast reaction time for one to stay afloat and complete the lap across the pool. It isn't the easiest activity to do for professional bodybuilders owing to the dense muscle mass they possess.

Also, their shoulder and hip joints don't move within fractions of seconds and their competitively low body fat percentage prevents them from staying afloat on water.

"The fact is, people with higher muscle mass or with very low body fat will find floating more difficult. This is because their body composition is denser than people with a higher body fat percentage," an article on swimnow.co.uk reads.

Swimming understandably is a tiresome activity for professional bodybuilders. However, that hasn't stopped them from doing it as a cardiovascular exercise as evidenced by Nick Walker's routine.
