Phil Heath sends warm wishes to longtime rival Jay Cutler on 51st birthday
One of the biggest rivalries in the history of bodybuilding was that of Jay Cutler and Phil Heath. The duo stood strong against each other at numerous Mr. Olympia contests. Despite having an intense on-stage rivalry, they maintain good relations when off-stage.
On Jay Cutler's 51st birthday on August 3, his friend Phil Heath posted a picture of the bodybuilding legend on his Instagram story. Posting a picture from their peak bodybuilding days, "The Gift" simply wrote:
“Happy birthday @jaycutler Love you Bro!”
Posting popular American rock band Linkin Park’s legendary song from 2000, Heath added:
“This song is for the day one Jay Cutler fans.”
Despite turning 51, and having retired years ago now, Jay Cutler still maintains peak health and conditioning. Training daily and following a strict diet, Cutler went through an insane transformation last year to mark his 50th birthday.
Jay Cutler’s "Fit for 50" transformation
Back in 2023, there was a rumour going around that Jay Cutler would make a comeback on a bodybuilding stage at Master’s Olympia 2023. However, this dream of fans didn’t prove to be true.
But Cutler did announce that he would present there as a guest. For this, Jay Cutler even announced that he would be transforming his physique before his 50th birthday.
“I’ll Be Honest, I’m a Little Rusty and I do wanna get in my lowest body fat, best muscle condition shape. But that’s gonna be a challenge cause I haven’t done that from sometime,” Cutler wrote in an Instagram post.
“Winning Olympia is really difficult…to go back to that…so I’m not gonna be exactly what I used to be but I’m gonna be the best that I can absolutely be,” Cutler added.
Jay Cutler documented his entire transformation for his fans and followers. This year, Cutler announced another transformation to mark his 51st birthday. During his latest episode of Jay Walking, Cutler said:
“Training’s going great. I feel good. I’m really thinking about this 51 ‘Fit for’. So I want to do another program and get in great shape for August. What do you think?” Cutler asked the cameraman. “I think that’s great,” said the man behind the camera (13:00)
