Self-proclaimed ‘king of squats’ Jay Cutler reveals secret behind astounding quad stomp
Four-time Mr. Olympia Jay Cutler demolished the entire lineup of bodybuilders in 2009 with his insane quad stomp. The separation and muscularity of his quadriceps instantly became the talk of the town. But how do you get such legs? Cutler recently shared the secret with his fans via a social media post.
Cutler’s 2009 performance was phenomenal. Inspiring countless individuals to take up bodybuilding, Cutler considers himself the ‘king of the squats.’ In a recent Instagram reel, Cutler shared his secrets for a perfect squat.
“Alright so we are gonna talk a little bit about squats. And as you know, I'm the king of squats. And by the way I did squat 700 (lbs) at 19,” he said.
The bodybuilding giant, who dethroned Ronnie Coleman, also talked about a tip for the back squat.
"For the back squat, okay? Most important...I like to keep the bar a little lower on the neck, okay? Not too high on the neck, sitting in the middle of the back okay? And ideally, remember when you squat, you want to keep your head up or facing forward. Really if you keep your head back and up a little bit, its gonna help with your plane as you go down," Cutler added.
Jay Cutler on whether squats are ideal to do in every training session

If executed properly, squats can be an extremely effective movement for lower body development. Talking along the same lines, Jay Cutler pointed out in the same Instagram reel:
"And remember, A** to the grass, so you always want to go deep. Parallel...Do clean repetitions with the squats okay? But I feel like this is still the meat and potato exercise that's going to give you the best leg development and it is ideal in your workout every single week."
