“Slightly brainwashed”: Greg Doucette accuses 'The Rock' of indirectly influencing Mesut Ozil to take steroids

IFBB Pro Coach Greg Doucette has accused Dwayne Johnson, aka The Rock, of indirectly influencing former Germany footballer Mesut Özil to use steroids. Doucette recently uploaded a video and shared his take on Özil's most recent physique update.

In the video on his YouTube channel, Doucette showed an image of Johnson, which Ozil had shared on his Instagram account. The image displayed the WWE star's well-built physique in front of a mirror. The post was from 2013 and the former footballer captioned it "Never give up." On this, the IFBB Pro coach made his statement, saying:

"If you follow The Rock you're going to be slightly brainwashed into thinking you can put on a ton of muscle. The Rock looks like this, claims to be natural and you're thinking, 'No, if I wake up at 4:30 to train, if I'm the hardest trainer in the room, then maybe I will someday look like The Rock,' and when you don't, what do you think you're going to do." Doucette also compared Özil's physique from 2015 to his latest bulked-up version, saying the 35-year-old's 2015 image was one of his best ever images.

"He chose to post his photo it's because he's proud of how he looked. That was in 2015 and so do you really think 9 years later, he's going to suddenly put on a ton of muscle?" Doucette said.

The IFBB Pro coach is not the only one who suspects the WWE star athlete of using steroids. The famous UFC host, Joe Rogan, also echoes Doucette's thoughts.

When Joe Rogan urged The Rock to come out clean

In 2022, while speaking on The Joe Rogan Experience podcast with fitness sensation Derek from More Plates More Dates, Joe Rogan asked Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson to come clean about his steroid use. The UFC host took this step after fitness influencer Liver King said he used performance-enhancing supplements for a ripped body.

Rogan accused the WWE superstar, saying:

"There’s no way you can look like that, in your 40s. He should make a video in response to the Liver King video. '[Imitates The Rock] I need to talk to you because the Rock’s been lying.' There’s not a f**king chance in hell he’s clean."
