Spiderman star Daniel Dae Kim shares unusual training routine: “I’m trying to compensate for my shortcomings”

Actors often struggle to keep up with their workout regimen while they're on a movie set. But Daniel Dae Kim, a Korean-born American actor, comes on the list of a few selected actors who never skip their training.

Famous for his roles in movies like Spider-Man 2 and Avatar, these roles required a well-maintained physique, and for that, the Hollywood star often trains on the movie set. Let's take a look at his training regimen.

In an interview with InsideHook, Daniel Dae Kim made a startling revelation about his childhood workouts and said:

"My go-to is pull-ups. I was never good at them as a kid so I’m trying to compensate for my shortcomings as a child now."

Now, Kim has gotten better at performing pull-ups and performs some variations of pull-ups. Some of his favorite grips are overhand, underhand, and side grips. Kim also shed light on the fact that he likes running, often for three to two miles each day. Kim thinks of running as his warmup for his workout session.

Running also helps him to clear out his stress. He often goes on runs as a form of meditative exercise. The Hollywood actor often struggles to work out on set.

Daniel Dae Kim said that he had to learn how to work out efficiently because of all the traveling they had to do for a movie. Traveling is a major factor in disturbing your training routine, and the Hollywood star feels the same and highlights that he doesn't know when he will be having his next workout.


The struggle just doesn't end here for Daniel Dae Kim

As the Hollywood sensation only gets one shot at working out, he always focuses on training his whole body whenever he gets the chance. He said in the interview:

"If I can only get in the gym once a week, I can’t just work one body part at a time, and another a week later."

Following this hectic routine for his movies, the Hollywood sensation mentioned that he only gets one day per week to train in the gym. But Daniel Dae Kim never skips his leg day despite getting only one chance to work out, and he said:

"I make sure I get leg work in every session. It can be too easy to skip leg day."

Other than that, the Hollywood sensation also plays pickleball whenever he gets the chance. Despite all these struggles, the well-known actor keeps up with his workout, inspiring many others to do so.
