The Boys star Laz Alonso offers opinion on diet vs workout debate

Amazon Prime series The Boys' star Laz Alonso, who plays Mother's Milk in the series is grabbing everyone's eyes on the internet. Alonso has been on a transformation journey since the start of the fourth season. After being questioned on his transformation journey, he recently shed light on his diet and workout regimen.

In an interview with the Men's Health YouTube channel, Alonso shared that he enjoys working out and thinks of it as a way of busting his stress. On the other hand, he highlighted that he found the dieting part much more challenging than working out. Alonso said (Timestamp 4:57):

"Oh, the diet hands down because the diet involves discipline."

Continuing in the video, The Boys star touched upon the challenges he often faces on the production set. He mentioned that the crew constantly makes snacks so the stars don't feel the time they spend on the sets. He highlighted that they often spend nearly 14 hours on a set to complete the shoot.

"Your body craves it when it's like 20 below outside and you're shooting in the snow; your body wants some comfort so that part becomes hard," explained Alonso.

Before the beginning of the fourth season, The Boys star shared that he felt that he had gained a ton of weight. He even made a hilarious comment on Amazon Prime and asked them "if they had added weight to me." Since then, he has been on a transformation journey.

In season four, Mother's Milk is back in the White House, and he wanted to look as lean as possible while flexing his chiseled jawline. For that, he started a healthy diet and a high-intensity workout program. The Boys star kicks off his day with a glass of electrolytes to keep his hydration levels maintained.

For breakfast, Mother's Milk eats egg whites along with rice, making it a kind of oatmeal. He tries to stay away from oats as much as possible. This insane and strict dieting approach helped. He lost 40 pounds after COVID-19 and before the beginning of the fourth season to get back in shape for the show.
