“Without him, life will never be the same”: Kristoffer Berner’s wife opens up after his death; coach releases her statement
Just hours after the sad demise of bodybuilding icon Kristoffer Berner, his wife Christina Berner has released her official statement. Kristoffer's coach Milos Sarcev reposted the statement on his social media account.
The 43-year-old's death just hours before his next pro show Chicago Pro led to a wave of sadness among bodybuilding fans. Serbian IFBB Pro and renowned bodybuilding coach recently posted an image of the late Kristoffer Berner on his Instagram account. The caption of the post included his wife's statement:
"It is with indescribable sadness that I have to announce that my beloved Kristoffer has passed away...Kristoffer was for most a uniquely dedicated bodybuilder who lived and breathed for the sport. His passion and commitment was an inspiration to everyone around him."
Further, Christina also shared about her bond with 'The Danish Giant', adding:
"To me he was much more than that – he was my everything, my unshakable rock in the storms of life. Together we have traveled the world and experienced countless adventures that have enriched our lives with unforgettable memories."
IFBB Pro Kristoffer Berner frequently posted videos with his coach Milos Sarcev. Hoping to win his Olympia qualification, he was going through rigorous training and a strict diet. However, fate had other plans. Talking further about her husband, Christina wrote:
"Without him, life will never be the same. The loss is indescribable and his absence leaves a void that can never be filled. However, his memory will always live on in our hearts and in the many lives he touched with his strength and kindness."
Kristoffer Berner, who was a huge fan of bodybuilding legend and six-time Mr. Olympia Dorian Yates won his pro card back in 2022. Even though his coach Milos Sarcev hasn't officially posted any statement, his repost about his wife's words further read:
"To all our friends and acquaintances: your support and loving thoughts mean more than words can express during this difficult time. I really appreciate your compassion and warmth, thank you."
Milos Sarcev's caption further disclosed that the funeral will take place on July 23, 2024, at 12 noon local time in a church in Lolland, Denmark.
Kristoffer Berner's death is the latest tragic event that the bodybuilding world witnessed in 2024 so far. Just hours before him, another prominent bodybuilding icon Daniel Broadhurst lost his life.
Another fallen soldier: Daniel Broadhurst
NPC bodybuilder Daniel Broadhurst, who was just 32 years old, passed away five days ago. Many social media pages that cater to bodybuilding fans posted about his death, however, the confirmation came much later. Broadhurst, who was a very respected bodybuilding icon in the amateur bodybuilding spheres, last competed at the 2024 NPC Worldwide Mexico Super Show.
Despite his failed dream of turning into an IFBB Pro, he performed incredibly well and won a ton of amateur shows. Popular bodybuilding website RX Muscle, whose founder is American bodybuilding icon Dave Palumbo, posted a condolence message, writing on Instagram:
"We're very saddened to hear of the passing of bodybuilder Danny Broadhurst. Upon hearing of any efforts to help his family, we will be sure to pass it along. We send our condolences and warmest wishes to his family, loved ones, and fans."
The loss of such talented athletes surely can't be forgotten easily. However, Kristoffer Berner and Daniel Broadhurst made sure to leave a lasting legacy behind. May their souls rest in peace.
