What was Rich Piana’s insane 8-hour arm workout?

Rich Piana was arguably one of the biggest bodybuilders known to mankind. Piana weighed around 315 pounds and stood at a height of 6 feet with 23-inch arms.

He surpassed the seven-time Mr. Olympia Arnold Schwarzenegger's size of 22 inches. This feat by Rich Piana attracted a whole lot of attention worldwide. But how did he manage to grow his arms to 23 inches? Many wonder. He designed an eight-hour arm workout. Let's find out what the 315-pound bodybuilder did.

Rich Piana designed this workout around a decade ago and shared it on his YouTube channel. The workout consists of 16 mini-workouts every half an hour for eight hours straight. Piana's workout included skull crushers, barbell curls, single-arm dumbbell extensions, hammer curls, a 100% club bench press, and a Smith machine incline 100-rep drop set.

However, this workout isn't an easy task, and Rich Piana even shared some tips if you want to try it out. First things first, you need to rest for two days without doing any workouts so that your body can recuperate. The next step is to have a monster breakfast two hours prior to your workout.

That's not all about the preparations for the workout. According to Piana, you need to make 16 protein shakes for each workout, and the shakes should contain little protein, simple sugar, and some carbs. This will help you refill the muscles while energizing and replenishing glycogen.

"Then you're gonna start your workout say 8 a.m. and every half an hour it's another workout all throughout the day and a little shake right after the workout, and this program is has been heard of putting the actual inch on the arms in 24 hours, and you know a lot of its information swelling, but it is shucks in the hell out of the arms, and it will push them into future growth definitely," stated Rich Piana. Jesse James West tried Rich Piana's workout

Last year, the eight-time Mr. Olympia's self-proclaimed son, Jesse James West, uploaded a video trying out one of the most dreadful workouts. The fitness influencer began the workout with his girlfriend's brother. They measured the size of their biceps beforehand and began the workout within a few minutes.

The duo kicked off their workout with four supersets of 10 reps of skull crushers and 10 reps of barbell curls. Both James and Walsh drank protein shakes after completing their workouts. Somehow, both fitness freaks managed to complete the workout. James witnessed exceptional results and grew his bicep by one and a half inches when he finished the workout.
