When was the Classic physique introduced in Mr. Olympia? Here are all the champions over the years
Until 2015, Mr. Olympia's contestants used to compete in seven categories: 212 Olympia, Women's Physique, Men's Physique, Ms. Olympia, Women's Fitness, Women's Figues, and Bikini Olympia. They were judged on their muscularity.
The Classic Physique category was introduced in 2016 to make Mr. Olympia more aesthetic. The contestants competing in this category need to be a little less extreme than those in men's bodybuilding, in terms of muscularity.
In addition, they should display some leanness and definition in their body. To be able to stand out in the group posing, the aspiring champion should have excellent presentation and spatial awareness.
