Standard Chartered brings Liverpool Football Club record-breaking manager, Bob Paisley OBE into 2019
29 November 2019, Standard Chartered, Official Main Partner of Liverpool Football Club today launched a groundbreaking new campaign in celebration of what would have been Bob Paisley’s 100th birthday year.
‘Project Stand Red’ unites the past and present to inspire and educate the next generation of Liverpool Football Club fans by celebrating the Club’s (and arguably English football’s) most successful manager of all time: Bob Paisley OBE.
Using smart technology, including Voice Modulation, Artificial Imagery (AI) and Computer-Generated Imagery (CGI), Standard Chartered have worked closely with Bob Paisley’s three children to respectfully showcase Bob within the world of Anfield in 2019.

Bob Paisley will once again walk on the Anfield pitch; tell unheard stories alongside one of his most famous signings, Ian Rush; interact with today's first team players and provide a rousing rallying call with current Liverpool Football Club Manager, Jürgen Klopp, inspiring fans to ‘Stand Red’ for the 2019/20 season.
Bob Paisley served the helm as Manager of Liverpool Football Club from 1974 to 1983, during a golden era for the Club, winning an unprecedented twenty trophies in just nine seasons, including three European Cups (today’s Champions League) and six First Division (today’s English Premier League) titles.
Commemorating 100 years since his birth, the 2019/20 Liverpool Football Club Home Shirt, celebrates the life and legacy of the Reds' most successful manager, with each shirt inscribed with Bob Paisley's iconic signature on the inside of the neck.
To complement this season-long shirt, Standard Chartered wants to pays its own homage to the Club’s rich history, by utilising technology and innovation to enable human connections and bring fans from around the world closer to the game. The development of this touching film series, serves both to educate and inspire Liverpool Football Club fans of old and new generations to come.
Graham Paisley, son of Bob, said: “It’s been an incredible process to see how this technology works, and also very moving. My grandchildren never got the chance to meet Dad in person, so this is a nice way of showing them who he was and what he meant to people. The whole family is really happy with the result.”
