It is good to be unknown: Vikas

London - Despite being World No.6, Indian boxer Vikas Krishan believes “it is good to be unknown” and not be in the glare of the media.

“Too much publicity impinges on the private life of a person. I can’t do normal things which people of my age do. I can’t even talk loudly or criticise somebody because people and media will blow it out of proportion,” said the 20-year-old.

“I am talked about because media has highlighted my performance and I am grateful. But beyond a point I miss the simple enjoyment of life which my friends indulge in. Because of this stardom I have certain constraints,” added the Asian Games gold medallist.

On his preparation for the Olympics, he said in his 69kg category, which has 28 boxers, three wins are needed to be among the medal winners. “If I win a medal here it will give me tremendous satisfaction that I have done some thing for my country. I am confident that I will not go down from my present position,” said the pugilist.
