Miguel Cotto and Canelo Alvarez to fight at 155lbs catchweight, likely date is Nov 7 or Nov 21

Cotto-Alvarez weight set at 155lbs!

The big fall fight which is termed as the second biggest fight in 2015, after Manny and Floyd, Miguel Cotto vs. Canelo Alvarez is almost set to happen in November. It is likely to happen either on 7th or 21st of the month. Roc Nation Sports and Golden Boy is working on the date and all the possible venues, even though MGM Grand or the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas are the most likely venues.

Coming to the confirmed news, the weight for Cotto-Alvarez has been set and both the boxers are ready to fight at 155lbs catchweight. It will be comfortable for both, as Canelo has been fighting at 155 in his last three bouts and even Cotto fought Sergio Martinez at 155lbs last year. Cotto also weighed 153.5lbs against Daniel Geale on June 6.

Both the boxers are coming off wins and are in very good form as Cotto is coming off a big knockout win over Daniel Geale and Canelo destroyed James Kirkland this past May. This most expected fight will be broadcasted on HBO PPV.
