FIDE World Junior Chess Championships U20 2024: Raksitta Ravi faces a defeat over Divya Deshmukh in women’s section
In the FIDE World Junior Chess Championships U20 2024, Rakshitta Ravi was handed a loss by table topper Divya Deshmukh in the women’s section. The competition is being held in Gandhinagar, Gujarat.
Moving forward to the open section, Pranav Anand settled for a draw over Aleksey Grabnev to make it to the 10th rank in the standings. Furthermore, Praneeth Vuppala bagged a win over Aswath S to secure the 11th rank.
On the other hand, Samant Aditya S secured a draw over Anuj Shrivatri to occupy the 14th rank in the tally. Ilamparthi AR bagged a win over Panda Sambit to make it to the 16th rank. Ilamparthi was once dominating the standings in the open section.
Shifting our focus to the women’s section, Divya Deshmukh continued her domination with the top position in the tally. Sachi Jain ascended to the third rank after defeating Beloslava Krasteva.
Rakshitta Ravi suffered a defeat over Deshmukh to slide down to the seventh rank. Shubhi Gupta bagged a win over Liya to secure the eighth rank. Ridhiya V suffered a loss over Ayan to settle for the 12th rank.
Sneha Haider (6), Bhat Sannidhi Ramakrishna (6) and Tejaswini G (5.5) are the other players inside the top 20 in the women’s section in the the FIDE World Junior Chess Championships U20 2024.
