Schedule of 2014 World Chess Championship
Viswanathan Anand lost to Magnus Carlsen last year in the World Championship encounter held at Chennai, but the Indian will have the chance to avenge that defeat in Russia this year.
Anand got the chance to play Carlsen by winning the Candidates tournament in April this year.
The Norwegian, by virtue of being the defending champion, was slotted in to play the tournament automatically.
It is touted to be an exciting contest and the battle between two of the greatest chess players in the world.
