Video: 12-year-old boy interviews chess sensation Tania Sachdev
The fourth international Sunway Sitges chess festival was held earlier this month in Barcelona, Spain. Indian female chess superstar Tania Sachdev participated in the event and was interviewed by a 12-year-old Avathanshu Bhat, who was also present at the event.
Sachdev is one of the premier chess players from India, having become a Woman Grandmaster in 2005, and an International Master in 2008. She has also gone on to play for the Indian team in various international tournaments like the Women's Chess Olympiad and the World Team Chess Championships.
The funniest part of the interview is the opening line by Avathanshu, where he says, "I must say you are looking really beautiful, Tania!"
When asked about her performance in the tournament, Tania said that although she was happy that she won her last game, she could have performed better in the 2 games she lost. She exclaimed, "I am going to go back home and analyse my games, but I am happy with today's game".
Tania said that apart from Chess, she loves playing Table Tennis occasionally. "I love playing Table Tennis, my mom was a professional Table Tennis player. Even though I am really bad at it, that does not stop me from playing," she said laughingly.
The 31-year-old chess player also revealed during the video that after the tournament, she would be taking some time off from playing chess and go on a short vacation. Sachdev has selected Sri Lanka as a possible venue to spend her holidays.
