Braden Montgomery MLB Draft: Top 5 landing spots for the Texas A&M star ft. Los Angeles Angels

One of the biggest names heading into the 2024 MLB draft is Texas A&M Aggies center fielder Braden Montgomery. He had an outstanding 2024 college baseball season, as he finished with a .322 batting average, .454 on base percentage and a .733 slugging percentage with 27 home runs, 85 RBIs and 65 runs scored.

Despite not being healthy enough to play in the 2024 College World Series as he recovers from a lower-leg injury in Game 1 of the Super Regional Round against the Oregon Ducks, Montgomery will be one of the most sought-after players in the 2024 MLB draft. But which teams would be the best and most realistic landing spots?

Braden Montgomery 2024 MLB Draft Landing Spots

Los Angeles Angels

Having a talented offensive piece to match with center fielder Mike Trout would be great for a Los Angeles Angels team to improve in the future.

Trout could transition to a corner outfield spot and allow Montgomery to control the outfield. They own the eighth-overall selection in the 2024 MLB draft and could begin to get a hitter who can quickly move up the minor league ranks and help them compete in the AL West.

Kansas City Royals

The Kansas City Royals are a fun, young team that signed superstar shortstop Bobby Witt Jr. to a massive extension in the offseason, so getting another star could be incredible for the Royals.

The team has a lot of talent and can create a significant window going forward to compete for World Series championships. The team is in a great position to take Braden Montgomery, as they have the sixth pick, and it would make a lot of sense to draft him.

Detroit Tigers

The Detroit Tigers hold the 11th pick in the 2024 MLB draft. While they do n't necessarily need to be in the market for a second baseman, they could get one of the best players in the draft class.

The team already has rookie Colt Keith towards the top of their lineup to really help the youth infusion go. With the spacious outfield of Comerica Park, this is a great option to be a star defender as well.

Washington Nationals

The Washington Nationals are a young team that's rebuilding and stocking up talent through the MLB draft.

They hold the 10th selection in this year's draft and could be a potential team to select Montgomery. Having a dynamic duo of shortstop CJ Abrams and center fielder Braden Montgomery just seems like a gigantic issue for the rest of baseball.

The Nats could continue to improve and play well heading into their window of competition.

Pittsburgh Pirates

Just the idea of seeing Paul Skenes and Braden Montgomery on the same team makes this a fun possibility in itself.

The Pirates' current starting second baseman is their 2020 first-round pick in Nick Gonzalez, and this would be another star-level player on the roster.

Montgomery would be a great addition, and with the ninth pick in the MLB draft, this possibility holds true.
