Florida Gators Baseball Transfer Portal Tracker 2024: List of all players who've entered the transfer portal

The Florida Gators defied all odds to make a deep postseason run this year. While they endured a mediocre regular season, they came through in the NCAA Tournament, making it to this year's College World Series as the only unseeded team in Omaha.

They did not stop there, scoring upsets over the NC State Wolfpack and the No. 2 seed, the Kentucky Wildcats before the Texas A&M Aggies ended their run with a 6-0 victory in the final game of bracket 2.

Soon after the end of the NCAA baseball season, 12 players from the Gators entered the transfer portal. Here is a look at those players.

12 Florida Gators players who have entered the transfer portal

#1. Cade Fisher

Fisher became the latest player from the Florida Gators to enter the transfer portal. He enjoyed a terrific freshman season, making the All-SEC Freshman team while recording 48 strikeouts and a 6-0 record with an ERA of 3.10.

In his sophomore season, he struggled to get going. Although he recorded 76 strikeouts, he went 4-3 in the season with a disappointing 7.13 ERA. A fresh start might just be what Fisher needs to find his confidence in college baseball again.

2. Michael Robertson, Outfielder

Robertson excelled in his redshirt freshman season this year. He played a key role in the postseason, particularly in the Athens Super Regional against the Georgia Bulldogs.

Robertson scored the walk-off single in Game 2 and the walk-off hit in the series-clinching game to ensure the Florida Gators stunned the Bulldogs and made it to Omaha. Overall, he recorded a home run and 11 RBI with an average of .231 this season.

3. Landon Russell, Infielder

The two-way player made just 16 appearances this season. He recorded only two RBIs at a .115 average. On the mound, he recorded 4 strikeouts in 3.0 innings pitched with an ERA of 9.00.

4. Robert Satin, Pitcher

The left-handed pitcher recorded 8 strikeouts in 9.0 innings pitched with an ERA of 4.00 this season. In his 10 appearances, the Gators won three games, with the freshman getting his only win of the season against the Bethune-Cookman Wildcats on February 28th.

5. Grayson Smith, Pitcher

The freshman endured a difficult start to his college baseball career. He recorded 25 strikeouts and conceded 15 runs in 17.2 innings pitched, taking his ERA to 8.66. However, he was solid against the Texas A&M Aggies during their regular season encounter on March 16th, striking out 6 Aggies in 2.2 innings pitched.

6. Reilly Witmer, Pitcher

Witmer made just four appearances this season, with his last appearance ending in defeat against the Florida State Seminoles. Overall, the freshman recorded 3 strikeouts in 2.1 innings pitched.

7. Hunter Jones, Pitcher

Jones made just two appearances for the Florida Gators in his freshman season. While he enjoyed victories with his teammates in both games, he conceded four earned runs across them without recording a single strikeout.

8. John Martinez, Infielder

Martinez opted to leave the Gators before the end of his freshman season, with knowledge of his decision going public just before the Florida Gators were to take on the Georgia Bulldogs in the Athens Super Regional.

9. Sammy Mummau, Infielder

Mummau chose to enter the transfer portal just before the Florida Gators were set to travel to Omaha for the College World Series. Since he did not play a single game in his freshman season, he still has four years of eligibility.

10. Alex Philpott, Pitcher

Philpott recorded 28 strikeouts and a 2-2 record in 31.0 innings pitched with an ERA of 6.90. He stood out among freshman players in the Florida Gators and is reportedly one of three players who are not expected to transfer despite entering the portal.

11. Jacob Gomberg, Pitcher

Gomberg pitched just 1.0 innings in his entire freshman season. This was during a game against the Columbia Lions on February 25th, where he conceded two earned runs in a 12-5 win. He is the second of three players expected to stay at the Florida Gators next season.

12. Blake Brookins, Outfielder

Brookins had just 6 at-bats in his freshman season, failing to register a single hit in any of them. Like Gomberg and Philpott, Brookins is also expected to play for the Gators next season despite keeping his options open by entering the portal.
