Langford played three seasons with the Florida Gators before declaring for the 2023 MLB draft. The outfielder was selected fourth overall by the Rangers and made his Majors debut earlier this year.

Langford got his first grand slam of his MLB career on Saturday, in the eighth inning against the Royals at Globe Life Field. The Rangers won the game 6-0 and improved to a 36-40 record.

After the game, Langford spoke to reporters and said he wasn't initially aware that his home run was a grand slam.

“That was pretty cool,” Langford said. "I even forgot it was a grand slam.”

Notably, Langford and Caglianone played one season together at Florida in 2023. The duo were a key part of the Gators team that reached the College World Series finals. However, Florida lost to LSU at the final hurdle and Langford later declared for the pro league.

After the Rangers drafted Wyatt Langford last year, Caglianone carried the mantle for Florida this season. The two-way star led the Gators to the final four of the NCAA postseason.

However, Florida lost 6-0 against Texas A&M last week in the College World Series, just one step away from making back-to-back CWS final appearances.

After Florida's elimination from the postseason, Caglianone hinted that he might leave the program. However, he has yet to decide on his future and whether he will declare for the pro league.
