"This kinda weird" "WTF???": Fans react to Tennessee Volunteers' players' unique handshake amid 2024 CWS final
Boys will be boys? The Tennessee Volunteers performed an unusual pre-game ritual at Charles Schwab Field in Omaha, Nebraska, ahead of their College World Series finals Game 3. As they battle with the Texas A&M Aggies for the national titles, some fans took to the internet to react to what might be the 'weirdest handshake' out there.
During their pre-game handshakes, two of the Vols players could be seen doing what can only be described as mimicking the way two golden retrievers check each other out. They stuck out their tongues and moved their heads to one side and the other while everyone was left stupified, wondering what were they doing.
One fan from Rocky Top admitted to the weirdness of the moment:
"I'm a VOL fan and I ain't gonna lie...this kinda weird wtf"
Someone else thinks this screams security in themselves:
"This is was secure in yourself looks like"
No matter what, Vols are enjoying Omaha:
"and where is your baseball team? sorry we are having fun at the FINALS."
Given that the publishing account is a Georgia Bulldogs page, fans decided to remind everyone the Dawgs didn't even make it to Omaha.
Tennessee holds a solid lead and looks primed to win its first College World Series
At the bottom of the 7th, Tennessee leads 6-1. Barring a disaster, the Volunteers look primed to win their first-ever College World Series while also becoming the first No. 1 national seed since 1999 to win the national title at Omaha.
The starters for today were a tale of two worlds. On the Vols side, Zander Sechrist provided 5 innings of solid pitching allowing one run, striking out seven batters and giving up one walk. For the Aggies Justin Lamkin wasn't the solution, with the starter pitching just two and a half innings while allowing three runs and giving up two walks and five hits.
