Every Tennessee player donned a white and orange Vols T-shirt when they got off the plane. Some wore black shorts, while others were spotted in track pants. Since it was a warm and sunny day in Omaha, some players were seen sporting stylish sunglasses and caps when they landed in the city.

Notably, this is the seventh time Tennessee has made it to the College World Series. However, it's the first time the Vols have made back-to-back appearances in Omaha.

Since Vitello became the coach of Tennessee in 2018, he has led the program to the College World Series on three occasions. He spoke to reporters earlier this week and stressed the importance of reaching the final eight and playing at Charles Schwab Field.

"It’s awesome. Omaha is great. You want to be able to check that box. To make it a good trip you continue to make progress as a team." Vitello said.
"There’s a lot on the line, you want to win but the thing you don’t want to lose is another day with the guys, another trip with the guys, another bus trip, or another plane, or an hour delay where Zander does something goofy. It’s the type of team you don’t want to be robbed of that extra day, extra moment, or extra hour.” Vitello added.

Tony Vitello's Tennessee (55-12) will open its 2024 CWS campaign by squaring off against Florida State (47-15) on Friday, June 14. The game will commence at 7 p.m. ET at Charles Schwab Field in Omaha, Nebraska. Under Vitello, the Vols have a rather underwhelming 1-4 record at the CWS.

Tennessee has never won the College World Series. The Vols finished as runners-up in 1951, but Vitello's team will be aiming to make history with the program this year.
