“You can feel the energy” - FSU baseball HC Link Jarrett pumped up after Noles' practice day at 2024 College World Series

FSU coach Link Jarrett is excited about what his team has in store at the 2024 College World Series. Florida State is returning to the CWS for the first time since 2019 and is yet to clinch the title in 24 appearances.

The Seminoles had a practice session in Omaha, Nebraska, on Thursday, and Jarrett spoke to D1Baseball about the positive energy flowing through his squad ahead of Florida State's clash against No. 1 overall seed Tennessee (55-12) on Friday.

"When that plane touched down, I can't explain the feeling," Jarrett said. "I looked back on the plane and there aren't many guys who have actually been here. So this is a first for our team, not the program, but our team.
"The program is to date, the team you have. So, really a cool experience. And leading up to this, you can feel the energy coming. And when you drive around and see the fan fests, you see the gathering of people, and merchandizing, you can start to sense it and I think what we're about to experience is truly a spectacle of sport."

FSU (47-15) earned the No. 8 national seed and will square off against Tennessee on Friday at Charles Schwab Field in Omaha, Nebraska. The game will commence at 7 p.m. ET and will be shown live on ESPN.

Jarrett took charge of Florida State before the 2023 season. In his first year in charge, the Seminoles posted a rather underwhelming 23-31 record.

However, in Jarrett's second season, FSU has shown a remarkable improvement by qualifying for the CWS, and the program will aim to make a deep run in Omaha.

Florida State took down Stetson in its opening game of the Tallahassee Regional before beating UCF twice to progress to the Super Regionals.

In the Tallahassee Super Regionals, Florida State beat UConn 24-4 in Game 1 and 10-8 in 12 innings in Game 2 to reach the College World Series.
