Ole Miss baseball transfer portal tracker 2024-25: List of all Rebels players who've entered the transfer portal
Off a disappointing 27-29 2024 season, the Ole Miss Rebels stand to lose a fair number of players in the transfer portal. In the arms race of the SEC, players who didn't see enough action or just want a new home will likely move on.
While the Rebels haven't lost a ton of regular contributors, there are some significant names already reported to have decided to head elsewhere.
Ole Miss College Baseball Transfer Portal Tracker 2024
Eli Berch, C
Berch started 33 games for the Rebels but hit just .204 for the season. A JUCO transfer from Oklahoma, Berch will have to cut down on his strikeout rate, with a whopping 35 whiffs in 98 at bats in 2024.
Corey Braun, P
After a year at Charleston Southern and another at a junior college, Braun was on his third school with Ole Miss. He did not play for the Rebels and the 6-foot-2 lefty is apparently now on the move again.
Kyler Carmack, P
A transfer from Arkansas State, where he pitched well in 2023, with a 3.23 ERA, Carmack never got untracked in Oxford. In nine appearances, including one start, he had a 9.28 ERA and worked just 10 2/3 innings. The right-handed pitcher is now in the portal.
Seth Farni, OF
A freshman from Mississippi, Farni was 1-for-7 in his limited action for the Rebels. He did not see any action in conference play.
Treyson Hughes, OF
A transfer from Mercer, where he starred for two seasons, Hughes started 40 games for the Rebels, but struggled at the plate. He hit just .237 (compared with a .351 average at Mercer) with an equally humble .305 slugging percentage.
John Kramer, OF
Kramer spent three years with Ole Miss. In 2023, he showed promise, hitting .265 with two homers in 49 at bats. But while Kramer started 14 games that year, he started just one in 2024. Kramer was 0-for-7 at the plate on the season in 2024, and is unsurprisingly moving on.
Trenton Lyons, C
A freshman from Memphis, Lyons sent mixed signals in his brief playing time. He hit .263 but also struck out 16 times in 38 at bats. With the departure of Lyons and Berch, incoming transfer Parker Goff figures to be the man at catcher for the Rebels.
Josh Mallitz, P
The junior righty showed real promise in 2023, posting a minuscule 1.45 ERA in 31 innings for the Rebels. He had two saves and whiffed 48 batters. But in 2024, Mallitz struggled, posting a 5.32 ERA in 22 innings, while opposing hitters batted .270 against him.
Grayson Saunier, P
The righty from Memphis started 12 games in 2023 and 10 in 2024, but could never get going at Ole Miss. Saunier's record is 6-7 with a career 6.25 ERA.
He did fan 87 batters in 90 2/3 innings, but opposing batters hit .284 with 20 homers against him. He'll get a fresh start at another high-level school where he could develop into a star.
Gabe Smith, P
A 6-foot-5 freshman from Illinois, Smith redshirted in his first year at Ole Miss, so he has yet to play in a college game.
Cole Tolbert, P
After a year at junior college, Tolbert has seen little use at Ole Miss. With a 5.50 ERA in 18 career innings, including just 4 2/3 in 2024, it's not surprising he's moving along.
