Tennessee Baseball Starting Lineup Today: Who's starting for the Volunteers?
Tennessee is looking to win its first College World Series while also becoming the first No. 1 national seed since 1999 to win it when it takes on Texas A&M in Game 1 on Saturday. The Vols have already won the Southeastern Conference regular season and tournament this season and are making their first back-to-back appearances in the College World Series.
The Volunteers are now two wins away from the promised land in what, without a doubt, has to be their best season in program history.
There's only one player who's doubtful for the opening game tonight in Omaha, Nebraska: outfielder Hunter Ensley. On Friday, coach Tony Vitello said the following about Ensley:
"Today will have a lot to do with it. I think he could go out there. It’s just a matter of matchups and we feel good about our depth, too. There’s other guys who can play the outfield and play in different spots...
"We don’t want to push it, but at the same time, he’s our guy. We want him in the lineup in some capacity. But I think there’s a lot of time between now and the first pitch tomorrow. So hopefully, that will benefit him."
Ensley suffered a shoulder injury on Sunday's victory over the North Carolina Tar Heels. The game is set to start at 7:30 p.m. ET and it will air on ESPN.
