Tennessee vs. Texas A&M College World Series Finals Game 1 Prediction, Odds & Picks - June 22 College World SeriesĀ

Game 1 of the 2024 College World Series Finals will take place on Saturday evening as the Tennessee Volunteers and the Texas A&M Aggies battle it out. Both teams went a perfect 3-0 in the double-elimination bracket round and finished up their bracket round on Wednesday.

Graduate senior lefty Chris Stamos (3-0, 4.26 ERA) will be getting the start for the Vols. He is coming off a no-decision against the Florida State Seminoles last Friday as he pitched 0.1 innings and allowed one run on one hit with one walk and zero strikeouts.

The Aggies will counter with redshirt sophomore southpaw Ryan Prager (9-1, 2.88 ERA) and he secured the win on Monday against the Kentucky Wildcats. In that game, he threw 6.2 shutout innings and gave up two hits with a hit by pitch, one walk and four strikeouts.

With all that in mind, let's take a look at which team is likely to take a convincing lead in the best-of-three series.

The game between these SEC foes is going to be available on linear television and streaming services. The game will be available on ESPN and will be streamed on ESPN+, Hulu + Live Sports, Sling and YouTube TV.

Tennessee vs. Texas A&M Prediction

The Tennessee Volunteers should enter this game with a distinct advantage due to how these teams performed during the College World Series thus far. The Vols have averaged 8.33 runs in their three games in Omaha thus far while the Aggies are scoring 4.7 runs per game in that span.

These two teams did not play during the regular season but did meet up in the SEC Tournament as Tennessee secured a 7-4 win. Ryan Prager has been one of the best pitchers in the nation but it is extremely difficult to see him silencing this lineup at an extremely tall task.

This Tennesee team has enough pitching and should be able to be led by players such as first baseman Blake Burke.

The Vols have the moneyline advantage for a reason, so go with them to win Game 1 of the College World Series Finals.

Prediction: Tennessee Volunteers -180
