Texas A&M baseball 2025 season preview: 3 biggest games, key players, predictions and more
Texas A&M Baseball was among the most impressive teams in the 2024 college baseball season. They produced a strong regular season, which earned them the No. 3 seed in the postseason, before embarking on an incredible run in the NCAA Tournament.
They swept the Bryan-College Station Regional and Super Regional, making the trip to Omaha for the second time in three seasons. They made their first College World Series finals in program history and looked good to become the first team in 11 years to win the NCAA tournament unbeaten. However, they failed at the final hurdle, narrowly losing the series to the Tennessee Volunteers.
With the 2024 season done and dusted, the Aggies will now look ahead to next season, using the off-season to prepare well. Here, we preview Texas A&M Baseball ahead of 2025.
Three key games for Texas A&M Baseball in the 2025 season
3. Tennessee Volunteers
The Volunteers will defend the College World Series for the first time in program history in 2025. Despite losing their stars in the 2024 MLB Draft, they will still be expected to be among the frontrunners for top honors. A rematch of this season's College World Series finals will be a game that NCAA Baseball fans cannot miss next year.
2. Kentucky Wildcats
The Wildcats shared the SEC regular season title with the Volunteers and will likely be among the frontrunners in the SEC next year. The Aggies will need to be wary of them during the season, making this fixture crucial in their quest for glory next season.
1. Texas Longhorns
The Lone Star rivalry promises to be more intense as the expansion of the SEC will see the Longhorns and the Aggies in the same conference from 2025. The new SEC baseball schedule sees the Longhorns as one of the Aggies' permanent opponents.
Jim Schlossnagle's surprising decision to move to the Longhorns after three successful seasons with the Aggies adds more fuel to the already heated rivalry—their showdown guarantees fireworks that fans simply cannot miss next season.

3. Shane Sdao, LHP
Sdao's arm injury in the postseason this year saw his season come to a bitter end. However, the sophomore can see his evolution into a lethal starting pitcher for the Aggies as a highlight of his season. He was among the first to commit to the Aggies following the departure of Schlossnagle after their College World Series finals loss.
This year, Sdao finished 5-1 while recording 55 strikeouts with an ERA of 2.96. With his eyes on the MLB and the call-ups of Ryan Prager, Evan Aschenbeck, and Chris Cortez to the major leagues, the Aggies will hope he can lead the team on the mound and produce a stellar junior season.
2. Gavin Grahovac, OF
Grahovac made a massive impact in his freshman season this year. He made program history along with Braden Montgomery and Jace LaViolette, with the trio becoming the first group of teammates to score over 20 home runs in the same season.
This year, Grahovac recorded 23 home runs and 66 RBI with an average of .298. He looks set to play an even bigger role in 2025, which will come with bigger expectations from the Aggies faithful.
1. Jace LaViolette, OF
LaViolette's incredible 2024 season showed he could be the face of the Aggies under new head coach Michael Earley. Despite Braden Montgomery's brilliance at the plate, LaViolette ended the season with the most home runs (29) and walks (64) for the Aggies. He also recorded 78 RBI with an average of .305, which highlighted his threat at the plate.
Projected as one of the top picks in next year's MLB Draft, LaViolette will look to impress at the plate and hope that he can lead the Aggies to glory in 2025.
Predicting the Texas A&M Aggies' 2025 NCAA Baseball season
Under Jim Schlossnagle, the Aggies developed one of the strongest rosters, producing stars in both the hitting and pitching departments. However, his departure to the Texas Longhorns leaves new head coach Michael Earley with a massive job on his hands.
However, his appointment has seen key players commit to the Aggies, which makes them a threat to all other teams in NCAA Baseball. With more additions likely to come, they look set to make another deep run in the postseason which could end with their maiden College World Series title.
