Texas A&M Baseball Starting Lineup Today: Who's starting for the Aggies?

The Texas A&M Aggies are one win away from their first-ever College World Series title. The Aggies secured a 9-5 victory over the Tennessee Volunteers on Saturday in a game where they were never really challenged. Closer Evan Aschenbeck was key to the Aggies' victory, providing two and a half key innings of relief in which he shut out the Volunteers in any attempt to rally. He only allowed two hits and struck out seven batters.

While no pitcher has been revealed for today's encounter, it seems like Justin Lamkin is the man called to close out the deal today at Charles Schwab Field in Omaha.

Only Ryan Prager and Lamkin have started for the Aggies in this College World Series, and with Prager having delivered in the opening game of the finals it would seem obvious that head coach Jim Schlossnagle will want to close out the deal this Sunday.

Jim Schlossnagle on what lies ahead for the Texas A&M Aggies and on Saturday's win

In the aftermath of Saturday's victory, Texas A&M Aggies head coach Jim Schlossnagle spoke with the press and said:

“Great ball game, certainly I thought we really played well for the most part, we got timely hits. Had some really good at-bats against some really good pitchers. Tennessee has got a great, diverse pitching staff."

He also took the moment to remind everyone that the task is not yet done and that there's a second game to win:

"I thought Prager threw some things, Stewie was awesome, Evan was Evan and Kaeden Kent just continues to play outstanding the back half of the season. It’s one win, we can’t make it anything more than that. Still got a ball game and a series to win, just like the regular season.”
