Which teams are left in the College World Series? A look at remaining contenders ahead of the finals
The bracket portion of the 2024 College World Series has concluded, with only two teams remaining to hoist the College World Series Championship. The games will happen on Saturday evening.
Which teams are left in the 2024 College World Series?
Tennessee Volunteers
The Tennessee Volunteers have been one of the best teams in college baseball throughout the season and have relied on their offense. The Vols scored 25 runs in their three games against the Florida State Seminoles twice and the North Carolina Tar Heels. This Vols team has been doing an incredible job with five players in their lineup hitting at least 20 home runs.
Leading the way is Christian Moore with a 1.276 OPS, 33 home runs, 73 RBIs and 81 runs scored.
Texas A&M Aggies
The Texas A&M Aggies won bracket two by defeating the Florida Gators twice and the Kentucky Wildcats to get to the 2024 College World Series Finals. The team was able to dominate on the mound, allowing only three runs in their three games in the bracket portion.
Despite Braden Montgomery's season-ending injury, they are doing well. Second baseman Kaeden Kent has gone 8-for-16 with eight RBIs in his last four games and is stepping up. With their dominating starting pitcher Ryan Prager and his 2.88 ERA on the season, they will pose a challenge.
Which team will likely win the 2024 College World Series?
On Saturday, a dominant lineup in the Tennessee Volunteers will go up against an elite pitching staff in the Texas A&M Aggies. These teams met once during the Southeastern Conference Tournament, where the Vols secured a 7-4. It is easier for a pitching staff to get hit than for an entire lineup to struggle, so go with the Tennessee Volunteers to win this one.
