On Saturday, the Clemson Tigers play the Florida Gators in Game 1 of the 2024 Clemson Super Regional. The match will commence at 2 p.m. ET at Doug Kingsmore Stadium in Clemson, South Carolina.
Who is pitching for Clemson today today?
Tristan Smith will start as the Clemson Tigers' pitcher against Florida. Clemson coach Erik Bakich confirmed his starters for the series while addressing the media on Friday.
“We’re going to go with Tristan tomorrow and then with Aidan [Knaak] in Game 2. So same 1-2,” Bakich said.
Smith had been out of action with an injury earlier this season. However, he has bounced back well into the fold and become one of the most important players on the Clemson roster. He allowed only one earned run in 5 1/3 innings against High Point in a regionals game last weekend.
The left-hander has a 2-0 record and has racked up 62 strikeouts and 29 walks in 46.1 innings pitched at a 3.88 ERA.
Meanwhile, right-hander Liam Peterson will be the starting pitcher for Florida.
