Who is pitching for Florida State today? All eyes on Seminoles in 2024 College World Series game - June 16

The Florida State Seminoles will play the Virginia Cavaliers in their second game of the 2024 College World Series on Sunday. The postseason eliminator will begin at 2 p.m. EDT at Charles Schwab Field in Omaha, Nebraska.

Florida State starting pitcher today

Carson Dorsey will start as Florida State's pitcher against Virginia on Sunday, Seminoles coach Link Jarrett confirmed earlier this week. Ahead of Florida State's game against Virginia, Jarrett heaped praise on Dorsey, affirming his confidence in the young pitcher for the postseason.

"When we started this, you have Leiter, Arnold, Whittaker. We thought Dorsey was a good weapon out of the bullpen with some of the other guys we had.
"Clearly we had to shift gears, and eventually he worked his way into that rotation. And he had some really good starts against some tough, tough teams on the road, I think Wake and Duke on the road," Jarrett added.

Dorsey has become one of the most important pitchers on Florida State's roster in the past few weeks and he has racked up a 7-4 record in 22 appearances. The left-hander has recorded 81 strikeouts and 35 walks in 69.1 innings with a 4.67 ERA.

It will be interesting to see how he fares against a strong Virginia batting lineup on Sunday.
