Who is pitching for Kentucky today? All eyes on Wildcats in 2024 College World Series game - June 18
The Kentucky Wildcats will play the Florida Gators in their third game of the 2024 College World Series on Tuesday. The highly-anticipated eliminator will commence at 7 p.m. EDT at Charles Schwab Field in Omaha, Nebraska.
Kentucky starting pitcher today
As per reports, Dominic Niman will start as Kentucky's pitcher against Florida on Tuesday.
Niman has been imperative for the Wildcats' success this season and has racked up an 8-4 record. The left-hander has recorded 66 strikeouts and 25 walks across 70.2 innings pitched at a 6.24 ERA.
Notably, Niman pitched against Florida earlier this season. However, it didn't go too well as the Gators scored six runs on seven hits against him and comfortably won the game 10-1.
Niman has a strong overall record this season, but he will be under pressure against Florida since the Gators need to win to remain in the postseason.
Meanwhile, Kentucky coach Nick Mingione praised the Gators earlier this week but insisted that his team will be up for the challenge.
"They took the hard path here, they were on the road, both for regionals and supers," Mingione said. "This league every week teams can change, and this is a time that we're facing tomorrow that has been there, done that. They're well coached.
"So yeah, we'll definitely have our hands full and they are not the same team from when we played them a couple of weeks ago."
